Annie's 3rd Birthday Party (cupcakes only, sorry) : We had a rolicking party for Annie's 3rd birthday last weekend, but of course I didn't take any pictures. I did a bit of video and will post that eventually. The only shots I did take were for the wonderful person who made the cupcakes - they (along with the bouncey house) were the hit of the party. Jamaica, Sept 1st - 8th 2008 : Far too many pictures from our Jamaica vacation, but again, editing feels like work, so these are straight out of the camera. We had a great time, Annie loved meeting all the Sesame Street characters... and it's great to be home.

Annie, 2.75 yrs old, July 2008 : Didn't take any time with these shots - so many of them could be edited/cropped a bit, but I almost don't want to sully the vacation with working on them - it'd make it feel too work-like. So here you go, as they say on Flickr "SOOC" shots from our Vineyard/Wellfleet vacation. (That's "Straight Out Of Camera"). Then there are a handful from our Hansens visit - not enough of Hanne and Bodie, more focused on Annie - or Annie's braids in particular.

Visiting the Hansens, May 2008 : We just had a wonderful weekend (our annual tradition) in Cary, NC, visiting Mary, Christian, Hanne and Bodie. The kids were adorable together, attempting to share - and we loved spending time together. Annie had a bummer of a fever for two of the four days, but it didn't stop the insanity. We even planted little candy "seeds" at one point and they sprouted into "lollipops" the next day!

Annie, 2 1/2 yrs old, May 2008 : On our way over to a neighbor's communion party - Annie and I had a bit of a fight to get this dress on (we're in a no dress phase, which I really hope doesn't last). Thought maybe we should take spring dressy pictures annually outside on our porch, to show how much she's grown. Just moved into the big girl bed mid-May, changed rooms too... very exciting.

Annie the photographer, March 2008 : Ev brought home an expired disposable camera from work a couple of weeks ago, and gave it to Annie as her own. She had so much fun with the flash going off... I think she's a photographer in the making.

Annie, 2 yrs 5 mo, March 2008 : So far during our florida visit the favorite quotes have been: 1) Annie: (Quietly... "Daddy, I can't look at Papa") and then when asked to repeat it, she said it louder. We realized it was because Jan had said "Don't look at me" in reference to something else we were discussing. Hehe. 2) After we noted that the ducks were enjoying the birdseed she'd put out, she said "That was willy nice of me." 3) And after a tantrum to end all tantrums after one day's nap, later that day Evan was telling the story of the screaming fit, and during a pause in the story, she said "Sometimes it happens like that."

Almost Tess' first birthday, 3/6/08 : We're down in Florida visiting Jan and Shirley and we got a chance to play with a daughter of a friend of theirs - Tess, and what a cutie pie! She's turning one tomorrow and she's just adorable. Annie loved playing with Tess, and when she left, she said "I like Tess."

Annie, 2 yrs 4 mo, February 2008 : Go Pats! Oops. That didn't work. And what's more fun than long, flowing turtleneck hair? And last month I joined a group on Flickr that has us taking photos of "Me and my kid" for 52 weeks this year. Hence the addition of me into many of the Annie photos. It's a group in honor of an amazing Australian photographer Sheye Rosemeyer whose 3 1/2 yr old died in an accident. Sheye said she wished that she had more pictures of herself with her daughter. Annie, 2 yrs 3 mo, January 2008 : I joined a group on Flickr that has us taking photos of "Me and my kid" for 52 weeks this year. Hence the addition of me into many of the Annie photos. It's a group in honor of an amazing Australian photographer Sheye Rosemeyer whose 3 1/2 yr old died in an accident. Sheye said she wished that she had more pictures of herself with her daughter. Annie, 2 years old, October 2007 : Annie's 2nd birthday party included bobbing for apples, decorating pumpkins, a pinata, and 35 adult guests, and 25 child guests (lots of our new neighborhood friends). It was an Elmo-themed blast :) Thanks to Julie from across the street for the action shots of the kids at the party!

Annie, 23 months old, Sept 2007 : We're slowly heading toward potty training this month. Every once in a while she'll do #2 on the potty in the morning... we'll see how it goes as we move ahead with the training... Also, it's official, she's become aware of the camera. She poses now, which is pretty hilarious. I did my Jimmy Fund Benefit Studio Day this month, as I do each spring and fall, so I had Annie be my test poser... but it was 6:30am, so you can tell her eyes are a bit swollen from sleep :)

Annie, 21 months old, July 2007 : Had a fabulous visit to Sarah and Curt Smith's house in Wellfleet this month, Annie adored playing outside and loved getting to spend lots of time with Curt and Sarah. She's also been torturing Pocheen for months now, so I had to record that. Corn on the cob is a new favorite - eating them with the newly baptised "Me Me" and "Gee Dee".

Anna, 19 months old, May 2007 (our last month in Somerville) : Anna found my high heels on Sunday, Mother's Day. And Gran came to swimming lessons to document the class we've been taking for about a year now. This class (since Anna was 5 1/2 months old) has been our Thursday afternoon activity, over at the Charles Hotel pool. In the last month or two, Anna's started jumping off the side of the pool and just absolutely adoring her time in the pool.

Anna, one year old (& bday party pix), October 2006 : Mere minutes before her birthday cupcake, Annie took a header into a plastic mixing bowl. You wouldn't think it could do this much damage, but the bump on her head begs to differ. Poor lamb. Then on Saturday we had her party at a park in Cambridge, very easy and fun. Thanks to Jannie, Roger and Adam for the pictures!
